It seems a very long time ago since March when lock down was imposed!
School remained open to children of Key Workers and those in specific year groups – a major focus for us was how to best support the community of Darfield in these unprecedented times. Against a background of uncertainty, we organised and delivered 100s of food parcels, supported families and individuals and provided online learning for all our pupils.
Unfortunately we know that Coronavirus has not gone away. We know that school will be very different in September to how it was in March and we know that it will continue to be ‘strange’ for some time to come. We will however do all we can to ensure the health, safety and well-being of every pupil and staff member in these coming weeks and months.
We have put many systems into place throughout the school day to promote the safety of all but we are conscious that gatherings before and after school could pose a risk to our school families. To aid social distancing before and after school we will be using a number of different entrance and exit points – highlighted on the photo below. Only Y2 and Y4 pupils are to go onto the playground before school. Parents, please arrive promptly at both the beginning and end of the school day and try to avoid the temptation to gather in groups. Thank you.
