All Saints Adventurers scale Mam Tor
On a very wet September Tuesday, the All Saints Adventurers set off on their first ever expedition.
The excitement grew as the bus drove through the Peak District and the children became ever more aware of the change in the countryside and the task ahead became a little bit more of a reality.
We set off into the rain and began our hike to the summit of Mam Tor – the children were amazing in their attitudes, they looked after and encouraged each other, laughed off blisters and were amazed by the views as they climbed through the cloud level to the summit.
We then had lunch before exploring along The Great Ridge (and splashing in the many puddles!) before beginning the descent back to Castleton and the waiting bus.
What an experience! The staff were so proud of each and every one of our Adventurers …. we’re already excited about our next adventure.
