SMAT Enterprise Challenge WINNERS!
We were delighted to be named the winners of the inaugural SMAT Enterprise Challenge event today.
We sent a team of young business men and women to compete against the finest from the other Trust schools. The team – The Darfield Drummers – had worked hard to create a pitch based around marketing a music station for the playground. They had to consider the costings of creating the instrument, a unique selling point, the price they would sell at, the market and how to reach it and then had to present to a panel of 4 judges in front of all the other schools.
They were FABULOUS!
The children from all the schools enjoyed the Samba band practice, they learned how to use a variety of instruments before performing for everyone. They loved the venue – especially the red carpet and their VIP tags.
I was so proud of the way they conducted themselves, worked as a team and showed the resilience to overcome their nerves. When All Saints were named as the Winners, the children could not believe it and had to be prompted to go and collect their prize.
Excitingly, we were surprised to hear that the SMAT will pay for a music station to be built on our school playground for all the children to enjoy! What a wonderful surprise – everyone will get to benefit from it!
