Fun at the seaside

The Year 6 Leavers Trip was a wonderful experience.

The original plan had been to go to London but after the terrible incident in Manchester and the heightened security risk, it was decided that through our Duty of Care the Trust trip venue should be altered.

And so, the Y6 Trip was to the east coast, to visit Scarborough and Filey. When the children got off the bus in Scarborough it was to climb aboard a mini steam engine , which chugged us on the first stage of our adventure.

We then walked round North Bay and onto the front at Scarborough – where everyone was ready for their fish and chips! The children then spent some time – and a lot of 2p coins – in the amusements and some time on the beach before the next leg of our journey. Destination Filey.

In Filey, the children had the best time paddling and splashing in the sea and eating ice cream.

The weather was glorious and made for a magical day for all the Y6 children (and staff) across the Trust.

Our shirts said,

Todays’ special moments are tomorrow’s memories.

Very true and very appropriate.
