Remembrance Service 2015

We held our Remembrance Service on Wednesday 11th November and once again it was a beautiful, moving assembly. This year we recognised not only the sacrifice made in the past and present but that war not only has global consequences but local too. Our children of different nationalities helped us remember this by saying ‘We will remember them.’ in their home languages of Polish, Rumanian,  Latvian, Bulgarian and French and Reverend David told us of two young soldiers of Darfield who fell in World War 1.

The children led us in poems, song, story and prayer and we were delighted that one of our ex-serviceman parents was able to close our Festival of Remembrance.
